Introduction
Zante, Greece, is the ultimate mix of calmness, happiness, and tranquility. Life on this beautiful island is simply stress-free. That’s all true, except for Laganas. We aren’t here to discuss calmness and tranquility, we are here to give you the top tips on your ultimate party holiday. Enough talk, let’s get to it.
1. Have Good Travel Insurance for Zante
Travel insurance on a party holiday is a must.
While it rarely happens, accidents can happen and I would recommend getting insured by a trusted provider and covering anything you need.
It’s also worth mentioning that when taking out a policy, I believe you should cover technology too (Just in case.)
2. Have an Online Bank Account
Online Bank Accounts are easy to set up and do not cause any hassle.
While visiting Zante, if you withdraw cash, pay by your normal banking card, or use your bank in any other way, it may charge you more than expected due to fees!
Online Banks will avoid these fees, help you save money, and allow you to easily lock your account if anything happens to your card.
3. Hire a Boat to Turtle Island, Zante
Escape the fervor of the party scene for a serene interlude by renting a boat to Turtle Island.
Marvel at the loggerhead turtles basking in the sun, and snorkel in the crystalline waters surrounding the island.
It’s a retreat into nature’s embrace, a serene counterpoint to Zante’s vibrant nightlife.
You can either book before or just walk onto Laganas Beach and there will be loads of people offering boat hires. (Try to find a good boat as it will be sad when other people’s boats go a million miles faster than yours!)
Make sure you bring cash with you on this experience. You will not regret going to Turtle Island – it’s beautiful.
4. Go to a Boat Party
Picture this: the sun setting over the cerulean waters, rhythmic beats echoing through the air, and you, aboard a lively boat party off the coast of Zante.
The maritime revelry unfolds as you dance the night away, surrounded by the shimmering Ionian Sea.
Make a splash, both figuratively and literally, in the of Zante’s party life.
5. Explore Zante’s Hidden Gems
Beyond the pulsating beats and neon lights, Zante harbors secrets waiting to be discovered.
Jump into your hotel pool, end the hangover, lace up your shoes, and venture into the lesser-known corners of the island.
Explore the sights at Zante Town, go swimming in different places around the island, and go rock jumping (carefully).
There are a million experiences Zante has to offer, remember – it’s not just a party island (We do love the party though – it’s mental)!
6. Go to a White Party
The White Party in Zante is a staple experience. Decked in pristine whites, you become part of an ethereal spectacle against the vibrant backdrop of the island.
Remember – in most places, you will need a ticket to get in!
Immerse yourself in an ambiance of luxury, where every detail is meticulously curated for an evening that transcends the ordinary.
Get some temporary tattoos (unless you’re brave enough for the real thing later on) and face paint to stand out in the crowd.
7. Freeze Your Bottled Water & Buy Loads
In the scorching Zante sun, hydration is not just a choice; it’s a necessity.
Stay ahead of the game by freezing your bottled water before heading out. It’s cheap and you can get massive bottles from your local shops.
Enjoy a gradual release of refreshment as the ice melts, providing a cool respite from the island’s hot, hot, hot climate!
Trust me, you will thank us when the water in the fridge has all gone and you have your frozen water in the freezer after a heavy night out!
8. Experience a Pool Party
Zante isn’t just about land-based revelry; make a splash at one of the island’s iconic pool parties.
Dive into the waters while world-class DJs set the stage for an unforgettable aquatic fiesta.
It’s an immersive experience where the rhythmic beats synchronize seamlessly with the splashes of excitement.
9. Hotel Location & Board
The location of your hotel can alter your nightlife completely. Taxis are regular in Zante, but when busy, they can be a pain.
I would recommend getting a hotel close to the Laganas Strip – it’s ideal for getting to the clubs and back without going on a drunken wander.
Choosing a hotel that includes food in your price (Half Board, Full Board, All Inclusive, etc) can also be a good decision and may end up saving you time and money, so you can spend more on partying.
10. Savor the Local Zante Flavors
A trip to Zante is incomplete without savoring its delectable local cuisine. The perfect hangover food in my opinion – a personal favorite is called Achilles Restaurant Bar.
Explore the flavors of pork and chicken gyros, chicken souvlaki and loads more your tastebuds are waiting for! Seriously- the food is amazing.
Takeaway gyros can be ordered for as little as 3 Euros – and you won’t be disappointed – it’s the perfect food before or after a night out.
11. Buy Cheeky Souvenirs
Keep the memories alive by indulging in cheeky souvenirs that encapsulate the spirit of Zante.
Support the local businesses on the island, buying their products will not only give you a souvenir but will help let businesses stay afloat!
From trinkets adorned with olive motifs to handmade crafts, let these playful mementos be a tangible reminder of your journey on this enchanting island.
12. Explore the Zante Shipwreck
The iconic Zante Shipwreck is more than a rusting hulk; it’s a testament to the island’s maritime history.
Chill at the beach and enjoy the crystal clear water it provides. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth – it cannot be faulted.
It’s a journey through time, an exploration of a maritime tale etched into Zante’s coastal landscapes.
13. Let’s Talk about ID
The Legal drinking age in Zante is 18.
In terms of buying alcohol and going clubbing in Zante, IDs are not regularly checked, but I would recommend taking your ID – if you have one.
Drinking and clubbing under the age of 18 is very frequent in Zante. We do not advise any underage drinking, we are simply stating the fact that it does happen, so…
14. Party Smart and Remember Respect
While reveling in Zante’s nightlife, remember to tread lightly and respect the authorities. Avoid altercations with bouncers and law enforcement; instead, be a responsible partygoer.
Your good conduct will make sure you do not get in any trouble – do not start/get involved in fights, don’t go to the toilet anywhere you want, and don’t annoy the locals!
The Police and Bouncers seriously do not mess around.
15. Stay Away from Ouzo – Unless it’s Your Thing
Ouzo is a serious drink from Greece, and once it’s in your system there’s no going back! It hits you all at once, so if you are planning on downing this devious drink, I’d think again.
We advise you to all drink responsibly, in Greek culture, getting drunk is more calm and it is seen as abnormal to get plastered, so don’t go overboard with it (bouncers will kick you out if you’re too drunk/ill).
16. Don’t Get a Tattoo (If Drunk)
We aren’t going to judge you for getting a tattoo – unless it’s stupid. Many people come back from this island with new ink on their bodies, and it happens every year.
When it’s your turn to visit, make sure you and/or your mates don’t make this mistake (unless you live with no regrets!) You can always get a henna tattoo as an alternative when you’re in Zante – they’re everywhere!
That being said, make the moment yours! Do whatever you feel will make this party holiday special – even if it is getting a tattoo of a special word in Greek (but it just translates to fish and chips), or a holiday romance’s initials.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Zante beckons not just as a party destination but as an island of multifaceted experiences.
From maritime revelry to cultural escapades, indulge in this Greek gem for an unforgettable and ultimate party experience.
